Seasons Greetings

Not really sure why this Disneyesque Christmas display is set up to greet Buddhist and Taoist temple-bound visitors exiting the MTR at the wong tai sin station, but it seemed suitably bizzare to warrant a photo.

Old enough that it may have come across the land bridge from Asia at the end of the last ice age.

From the sanskrit svas for goodness - benevolence. It's also part of old Norse tradition and seen as the hammers of Thor. There are several Buddhist interpretations.
